Apparently a pair of parents in paradise!

And please keep on telling us about the amazing food you're eating. The food stories were so tasty sounding that the next time I'll have to put a bib on my keyboard!

Awesome Mom and Rick! You've set the bar high for Christmas greetings. I especially like the hip-hop and Kava explanation. Although you might be on the beach this Christmas, we're hitting above zero's here in Winnipeg! No likelihood of a white Christmas this year. Thanks for the fun and laughter this morning. ~love Keith

Great rhythm! I loved the new lyrics. Also, seeing a video of you two really brought your trip into our house. Thanks Irene and Rick! ~love Jodi

Dear Irene,

As I continued reading your cabbage roll article a smile had stretched over my entire face and a tear to two rolled down my cheeks.
Memories of my own cabbage roll making days fondly trickled back.
Those were the "cabbage roll days"

My parents, bless their souls, are only in spirit with us now, but memories of our making cabbage roll making days together are as real as if they were yesterday.
I will never forget, dad, he was the best cabbage roller in our area of Winnipeg, his never fell apart, never unravelled, as we sat around the table, chatting, laughing, and rolling away. Mom worked by his side and us, their 6 children took turns learning the trick of the roll, as we ran through the kitchen, every so often making a stop to try rolling one.

Our cabbage rolls were only made of rice, no ground beef and no buckwheat, just rice, boiled in tomato juice! Apparently, back in the old country, where my parents grew up and had 5 of their 6 children, meat was a luxury.
Once in Canada we continued making meatless cabbage rolls.
Fresh dill always topped the cabbage rolls as they cooked, their aroma filled the home.

My mom passed away Nov 23, a few years ago, bless her soul!
Mom and Dad you will always be in our heart!

Thank you for sharing this story !

DIAKUYOU!

"Our own earthship community here in B.C" this caught my eye...
My husband and I are looking at building an earthship on Vancouver Island in the next 2 years...of course the ultimate dream is to build a whole community one day.
Do you know of anyone here in b.c who has build one? I would love to connect with others in the area who are interested in this.
all the best

Enjoyed your article TYOC Taos New Mexico!

As an artist, interior designer, art instructor, environment advocate and at times closet poet, I echo your observations; this area exemplifies the ultimate feast for the all senses and a painter’s canvas.

The New Mexican adobe style architecture with its rounded corners on walls and edges does convey a soothing (flow) welcoming, peaceful and no constrictive structures in contrast to hard edge architecture that can project piercing tension.

Thank you Stella Johnson BID
